    Additional:

Nature, gastronomy, art and literature are part of the attributes that the province of Ciudad Real treasures and that synthesize the motif of the stamp of the month of May of the series "12 months, 12 stamps".

Nature, represented by the Tablas de Daimiel National Park, the last representative of the river table ecosystem, is currently one of the most important wetlands in Europe.

Modeling the initials of the province, we recognize the gastronomy in the form of Manchego cheese and the glass of wine, representing the various denominations of origin that the province holds, such as DO La Mancha, Valdepeñas, Pago Casa del Blanco, Dehesa del Carrizal o Florentine.

The dome that rises the tower of the Cathedral of Santa María del Prado in Ciudad Real and a windmill in Campo de Criptana represent the sacred and popular architecture, characteristic of the province.

Built on top of a thirteenth-century hermitage, of which only the Puerta del Perdón and a rose window have been preserved, the Ciudad Real cathedral holds the title of priory of the military orders of Calatrava, Montesa, Alcántara and Santiago since 1875 by the bull of the Pope Pius IX.

The windmills that adorn the landscape of Campo de Criptana constitute one of the icons of Castilla-La Mancha in Spain and even of Spain in the world, thanks to the great work of Miguel de Cervantes who places the famous set in the place of Don Quixote with the giants.

Along with the second initial, we can see the famous helmet of Don Quixote de la Mancha, the barber's pot that the ingenious gentleman thought he saw in it, the fabulous Mambrino Helmet and that Cervantes himself called, in the mouth of Sancho Panza, baciyelmo .

The literary facet of the province surpasses the Cervantes work and acquires scenic overtones in the municipality of Almagro, represented by one of the glazed galleries in its main square. Its 17th century comedy corral, the oldest in Europe, remains active four hundred years after its inauguration.

The lower red band reproduces the color of the flag of the province.
