    Additional:

*Maintenay is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of France.

Presented mill is one of the main attractions of the department.

The mill was given to the Cistercians monks of the Abbey of Valloire in 1197. The monks worked there until the 18th century. The Abbey was bombed at that time and probably to finance its reconstruction, the mill would have been sold.

Still, the family bought it in 1852 Sailly. The flour mill ceased operations after the Second World War. The mill was then converted into a sawmill. This activity stopped in the 1970s.

Today the mill is fully restored and makes regular flour grinding for the visitors. The bakery, which is located in one of mill's room, baked bread and pastries that you can buy anyone.
